Some wonderful, ingenious picture books i read as a kid still remain my favourite books to this day. An all time favourite is
"Where the Forest Meets the Sea" by Jeannie Baker: awesome use of collage, perfectly titled, simple, magical language.

Oliver Jeffers but man his books are awesome too!
