Titanic 3D

Did you know it was filmed in a inflatable pool?!Life ruined. Haha.


Anyway, sent my parents on a date last night (favourite daughter brownie points-suck that Louise!) They went to a media screening of the biggest movie ever (now in 3D!) at George St Event Cinemas, courtesy of me and my rocking internship, and reportedly had a lovely night, watching one of their favourite films. Honestly, the number of times Mum brings Titanic up whenever she goes to the movies- Titanic is the benchmark, yet to be surpassed. I generally reserve my judgement for another time.  It's not the BEST MOVIE EVER GUYS obviously and i don't cry anymore after having seen it like, ten times. But it's definitely entertaining and at 3 and half hours, that's one mean feat. I would have loved to see it when it first came out in 1997, on the big screen, which would have been amazing, but i was 4 at the time...haha discussing this fact in the Yahoo offices on Friday made my twentysomething editors feel super old. You know what, another thing i literally JUST remembered- I acutally had a Titanic shirt as a kid. A yellow tshirt with Kate and Leo's face and the ship screenprinted onto it, that i wore to bed. HAHAHA! How funny. 


Anyway here are my top 3 moments from the film. They are heart-stopping moments.

1. The grand ballroom with its chandeliers and sweeping staircase with a scrubbed clean, top tail coated Jack waiting at the bottoms, eyes cast upwards. Before everything went to shitcakes.
2. The poor Irish mother tucking her children in bed and singing them to sleep in the lower quarters, as the water begins to seep under the door into the rocking room. (THIS GOT TO ME. Ok i still cry in this scene.)
3. The violinists. Honour and dignity in the face of death and it's gaping jaws. Keep Calm and Carry On Playing Stravinsky.
